The Amsterdam's Marionetten Theater, situated near the Nieuwmarkt, hosts a classic puppet theatre for youngsters aged five years and above. The puppets, costumes, props and décor are hand crafted by a team of talented woodcarvers, sculptors and painters. After the performances, one may have a look behind the scenes to see how the puppets are manipulated and to get a load of the techniques and tricks that are used. Performances are seasonal and advance reservations are recommended. Children's parties with performances can also be coordinated. Let your little one go wide-eyed at these shows, which draw a few enchanted breaths from adults as well.
