The annual Amsterdam Fantasy Film Festival is something of a local cult classic that screens European and international fantasy, horror and science fiction movies. The festival also gives out various prizes, organises workshops and retrospectives, and puts on a marathon Night of Terror for horror fans. Screenings take place at the Path Bellevue and the cinemas of the Melkweg and Paradiso nightclubs. The festival gives out three awards: a lifetime achievement prize, a European fantasy award, and the Canal Plus Silver Scream Award for the audience favorite.
