Rotterdam is only an hour by train from Amsterdam's Central Station, and for film buffs the trip will be well worth it. This well-known and growing film festival recently attracted 350,000. Low-budget productions make up a sizable portion of the program, with dozens of mostly Dutch entrants competing for three VPRO Tiger Awards for young filmmakers. Other awards reflect the favourite films of the audiences, and of the Dutch Film Critics Circle. Tickets are available through the Web site.
