De Krakeling is Amsterdam's children's theatre. There are more than 210 performances per season for children aged between 4 and 18 years old. There are different kinds of performances, such as drama, music, dance, and puppet theatre. The building is more than 100 years old and owes its name to the nearby 'Koekjesbrug' (cookie-bridge). The theatre used to be a gymnastics hall. Performances: 2p Wednesday (for 4-8 years old) and Sunday (for 6 year olds and older); 8p Friday and Saturday (family performances for 8 years old and up).
