During National Museum Weekend, which usually takes place in April, you can visit a large number of Amsterdam's museums at a reduced price, or even for free. As many as 500 museums take part, so refer to the Website for information on dates and venues. There are even special tours only available during this time. Free maps of the route and the Museum Weekend newspaper are available from participants and Amsterdam's Tourist Shops.
