The Open Harbour Museum is situated in the former Depot 6 on KNSM Island. This depot was the hall which passengers arriving and departing via the 'Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij' (the Royal Dutch Steamboat Company) used while in transit. The decor is still preserved in its fifties style, as designed by nautical architect Van Tienhoven. The museum's permanent and temporary exhibitions demonstrate how the workman's spirit once defined the area.
