Although De Ponteur is mentioned as restaurant only in the local phonebook, the roomy front part is also a very pleasant pub before dinnertime. An especially nice feature here is the reading table with an excellent choice of newspapers and magazines; all through the day it attracts many people with some time to spare or who want to rest their legs after a couple of hours shopping on the busy Javastraat or the Dappermarket nearby. The kitchen is very good, by the way, and offers mainly dishes from the European continent with French overtones.
