Surrounded by water Amsterdam offers a series of water related sporting events.

The annual boat show at the RAI center marks the start of the boating season. Here all sorts of water sports are represented: sailing and motor yachts, catamarans, jet-skis, surfing, wakeboarding, and windsurfing.

Another water related event is the New Year's Day Dive. On the New Year's Day come out to the beach to take part or just watch the polar bear swim in the very, very cold North Sea. To spice things up a bit, no trunks are present. This unique event takes place on The Hague's magnificent Scheveningen beach (45 minutes by train from Amsterdam), which is well-known for its summertime fun.

Energis Open

This tennis tournament takes place at Amsterdam's Tenniscentrum and it is the biggest clay court tennis tournament in the Netherlands. The event draws high-class players from all over the world. It is one of the most favorite sporting events in Amsterdam.
